Reliability through continuous improvement
Developing and manufacturing a utility product that will survive the elements in the Arctic Circle and the Florida sun is a challenge. Making those products perform dependably for decades in such extremes increases the degree of difficulty several times over.
With more than 125+ years of experience, we at Sensus have a deep understanding of what it takes to make reliable and accurate utility products that will endure any environment, while delivering consistent performance our customers can rely upon.
Of course, we can only provide our customers with reliable products if we use reliable parts. Our Supplier Quality team is devoted to ensuring we use only those suppliers that meet our high quality standards. Suppliers are audited against their quality processes and consistency in parts provided as part of the quotation process. Suppliers that cannot produce components that meet our quality requirements will not be selected.
We also achieve reliability through daily analysis of production data and field metrics. Statistical Process Controls (SPC) on our manufacturing lines alert our staff to negative trends related to products or test equipment, enabling us to confine issues to the factory, preventing them from reaching our customers.
Lean Six Sigma
Our global teams employ Lean Six Sigma to put our significant production experience and reliability data to work, driving continuous improvement throughout our organization and our products. Leveraging Design for Lean Six Sigma (DFSS) practices and putting our customer first from the conceptual stage of development through product delivery, our objective is to provide reliable products that our customers can trust for decades to come.
With Master Black Belts on our staff—in addition to training hundreds of our employees in Lean Six Sigma methodologies—we have taken it a step further by training dozens of employees from our manufacturers and key suppliers. This collaborative approach drives our Customer First philosophy beyond our walls and into the core of our products, where accuracy, dependability, and consistency meet.
