The Oakville Hydro Corporation has selected Sensus, a leader in data collection and metering solutions for water, gas, and electric utilities, to power the next major milestone in the utility’s Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) initiative. Beginning in September the utility will deploy the Sensus FlexNet™ solution—a single-tier AMI system that provides reliable and flexible AMI fixed network service. The smart grid solution includes a dedicated, FCC licensed and protected communications network, with up to two watts of transmission power.
