Sensus expands its AquaSense™ intelligent water management product portfolio with the addition of 8″ and 10″ meters for all models in the OMNI™ collection of lead-free commercial water meters. The OMNI collection is one of the original components of AquaSense, Sensus’ vision for the future of water management which unites the Sensus FlexNet™ two-way communications network with advanced meters, software and services to help utilities boost operational efficiency and customer engagement.
The OMNI collection is the first commercial metering line to offer patented Floating Ball Technology (FBT) and an all-electronic register. Meters equipped with FBT feature a single moving part that is nearly weightless in water, providing more accurate measurement, extended flow ranges and reduced friction for greater meter longevity. The all-electronic register provides pulse output capabilities as well as 31 days of data logging, enhancing the usefulness of advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) two-way communication networks.
Meters in the OMNI collection deliver maximum benefit when deployed in conjunction with other elements of the AquaSense solution such as the Sensus FlexNet™ communications system, a powerful, point-to-multipoint network that is based on open standards. OMNI meters connect with most AMI and automated meter reading systems to support intelligent and reliable remote management of water distribution networks. Utilities also benefit from the rapid return on investment made possible by the OMNI meter’s single measuring chamber, few individual components and simple installation and maintenance.

The OMNI meter collection is constructed with a sealed iron body and is fully compliant with NSF standards. Materials used in the OMNI collection have already been proven for distribution piping, valves and other related components within the water industry.
The OMNI collection was first introduced November 2007 and as of July 2011, Sensus has shipped more than 50,000 OMNI meters. The collection includes the T2, a turbine meter, the C2, a compound meter and the F2, a fireline meter.
